Hoi An … The Ancient Town That Has It All!

Our stay in Hoi An couldn’t have been better. It has a little bit of everything, making it an ideal place to visit. The weather, although hot, was perfect each day and the activities gave us the opportunity to experience the old and the new gems of this city just outside of Danang.  Nightlife at Mr. Bean’s Bar The Vinh Hung Emerald Resort is a 52 room romantic Riverfront place, which is only 10 minutes walking distance from the ancient town of Hoi An and made me feel like I was in a White Lotus paradise.  Morning Views from the Resort Our first day included 24km of bike riding and over 10km of walking. Just another day for me but I fear my poor cousin Carlos thinks I want to kill him! Time to Ride The day began with some lessons on farming with a local 73 year old female farmer who was a firecracker and entertained us in the heat while instructing us through hand gestures, what to do.  Tua Que Village - Learning to Farm Ancient watering techniques  With the farming done, we cycled alo

It’s only been 3 days but I’m already impressed by the people, the food and the way traffic just flows here in Ho Chi Minh City!   The People’s Palace Some beef dish…so good! After 2 flights (16 hours to Taipei, Taiwan then 3 hours to Ho Chi Minh) we arrived to another world. The 11 hour difference was an easier adjustment then I expected but the adrenaline helped us get through the first day. Still can’t believe I’m here!!! Saigon Special Cheers! We made it! Walking Street- Those are all restaurants and cafes.  The airport was easy to navigate and we bought a SIM card with unlimited wifi for $15US to keep us connect with people back home. Asia Tours had our driver ready and he gave us some great tips and ideas on how to spend our afternoon.  Our hotel was located in District 1, which is the heart of the city and we were able to walk around and see the Saigon Riverfront, local areas of interest and the famous Ben Thanh Market.  After a delayed flight my cousins Sandra and Carlos arrive

I guess Florida was 😔 sad to see us go because it rained throughout most of our visit. We decided to take the Old Town Trolley much to Rob’s relief instead of walking. The tour highlighted some of the historical significance and made a stop right near a Key Lime Pie shop.  Beautiful Architecture  Love me some Key Lime Pie Heading out of St. Augustine we happened to find another Bucc-ee’s, so we stopped to grab some pulled pork and Brisket sandwiches to fill our bellies for the next leg.  Okay, it's really good for truck stop food! Trust me! If you see one...you must stop! Our second stop was Savannah, Georgia and the weather was perfect for us to stretch our legs for a couple of hours and take
