Liverpool - All You Need is Love

We are back in the UK and heading to London but decided to make a two day pitstop in Liverpool. Home of the Beatles and of course the beloved Liverpool FC Football team. Our flight from Dublin to Liverpool was a quick one and we got to downtown Liverpool by taking the local doubledecker bus for £2 each. We stayed in a great little hotel apartment right by the waterfront. I highly recommend Staycity Aparthotels!
So much more than just music and football, Liverpool is a surprisingly beautiful city and small enough to be easy to walk around. The people here are renowned for their open friendliness and happy to strike up a conversation with anyone. While it may take you a little while to tune in to their accent, the people here generally love their home town and I can understand why. The women in Liverpool often make an extra effort to glam-up and cold weather won't stop them wearing the latest fashion. Oh yes, the people-watching opportunities in Liverpool are superb and the shopping scene is great too. Being in the home of the Beatles we has to do the tour and take a visit to Mathew Street where the Fab Four played at The Cavern Club. It's amazing how a group that only lasted 8 years managed to have such an iconic impact for generations.
Thankfully we are starting to feel better now but in Liverpool we had to take our 30000 step days down to around 20000. Our energy levels needed to be conserved for the massive amounts of walking waiting for us in London.Sadly we had to miss out on going to a football game as we had planned because we weren't going to get better by being out in the cold for 3 hours. It just means we will have to add it back on our bucketlist and try again another time.
Super excited to head to London feeling better, and looking forward to catching up with my cousin Raquel! This is it folks...heading to the finish line of our first big trip. Its almost time to start planning the next one!
